FAQ

Questions pilgrims actually ask

Clear answers about quoting, documents, guarantees, and diaspora sponsorship — without marketing fluff.

Answers

Before you travel

Honest answers, not template copy.

Zad publishes what operations can stand behind — passport rules, guarantee options, and how diaspora sponsorship protects privacy.

Quote first 6-month passport rule Application guarantee Diaspora sponsorship Emergency page
Do I need to upload my passport to get a quote?

No. Quotes only need contact and travel details. Passports are requested after booking.

How long must my passport be valid?

Zad does not accept passports that expire in less than 6 months from the travel date.

What guarantee is required on the application?

The guarantee protects against illegal overstay after Umrah, which can bring about a 25,000 SAR fine (over 1,000,000 ETB) and agency system suspension. Choose one option: a known legitimate person (name and contact) who knows both Zad and you, a money guarantee of 1,000,000 ETB, or a home carta.

Can I book Umrah for my parents from abroad?

Yes. Use the diaspora sponsorship flow so you can pay while travelers submit their own documents securely. diaspora sponsorship flow →

When are documents uploaded?

After a booking reference is issued. Files enter private storage — not email attachments.

What is the emergency address page for?

A printable public page pilgrims can show if they need help reconnecting with Zad coordinators — without exposing private identity data. Emergency Address →

Are package prices shown on the website?

Only after Admin publishes verified packages. Until then, request a tailored quotation.

Can institutions integrate with Zad?

Partners can request scoped API credentials through the developer portal. developer portal →
