Complete guidance for performing Umrah from Ethiopia to completion. Available in English and Amharic.
Pre-Departure Preparation

Documents Required:
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
- Umrah visa (processed by Zad Travel Agency)
- Flight tickets
- Hotel confirmations
- Travel insurance
What to Pack:
- Ihram clothing (2 sets)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Personal hygiene items
- Prayer mat
- Essential medications
Departure from Ethiopia

At Bole International Airport:
- Arrive 3 hours before departure
- Check-in with passport and visa
- Complete immigration procedures
- Board flight to Saudi Arabia
Flight Duration:
Approximately 4-5 hours to Jeddah or Riyadh
Arrival in Saudi Arabia

Immigration Process:
- Present passport and visa
- Complete biometric registration
- Collect luggage
- Meet with Zad Travel representative
Transfer to Hotel:
Comfortable transportation to your hotel near Haram
Entering Ihram

الدخول في الإحرام
Before Entering Ihram:
- Take a complete shower (Ghusl)
- Trim nails and remove unwanted hair
- Wear Ihram clothing (2 white unstitched pieces)
- Perform 2 Rak'ah prayer
Ihram Niyyah (Intention):
"Labbaik Allahumma Umratan" (O! Allaah, I answer Your call for Umrah)
Tawaf (Circumambulation)
ጠዋፍ (ዙሪያ መዞር)
الطواف (الطواف حول الكعبة)
Tawaf Process:
- Start from Hajar al-Aswad (Black Stone)
- Circumambulate Kaaba 7 times counterclockwise
- Recite supplications during each round
- Kiss or touch Black Stone if possible
Important Notes:
Keep Kaaba on your left side, maintain Ihram, and avoid pushing others
Sa'i (Walking between Safa & Marwa)
ሳዒ (በሰፋ እና ማርዋ መካከል መሄድ)
السعي (بين الصفا والمروة)
Sa'i Process:
- Start from Safa hill
- Walk to Marwa hill (1 round)
- Return to Safa (2nd round)
- Complete 7 rounds total
- Recite supplications during walking
Historical Significance:
Commemorates Hajar's search for water for her son Ismail
Halq or Taqsir (Hair Removal)
ሃልቅ ወይም ታቅስር (የፀጉር ማስወገድ)
الحلق أو التقصير (إزالة الشعر)
Hair Removal Options:
- Halq: Complete head shaving (recommended for men)
- Taqsir: Trimming hair (minimum 1 inch)
- Women can only do Taqsir
After Hair Removal:
Ihram restrictions are lifted, normal clothing can be worn
Journey to Madinah

Travel to Madinah:
- Travel by bus or private vehicle
- Distance: ~450 km from Makkah
- Duration: ~5-6 hours by road
- Check into hotel near Masjid an-Nabawi
In Madinah:
Visit the Prophet's Mosque, offer prayers, and seek blessings
Return Journey
